Our design services range from a one-time consultation and walk through of your landscape, a partial design or a full landscape design plan with landscape drawings and detailed planting plans. Based on the initial meeting, we will discover what your needs are and how Hawthorn Landscape Design can help you. Our design team is innovative and creative. We are particularly passionate about creating sustainable and ecologically friendly landscapes. We can also help you grow food! We love including vegetable gardens as part of a comprehensive landscape design. We believe that healthy landscapes with biological diversity are crucial in keeping us and our planet healthy.

Maintenance

Garden Maintenance, Strata Maintenance and Clean Ups are a big part of our business. 

We offer a range of services from spring and fall clean ups to regular scheduled maintenance visits. We offer hourly or monthly contracts depending on your budget and garden needs. Whether you need a hedge pruned once a year or, regular visits to your garden, we provide efficient and professional services. 

We can customize your maintenance schedule to weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, spring and fall cleanups and special projects. 

Installation

We carefully select and install the best plants, shrubs and trees for your gardens. For stonework and woodwork, we can provide all the professionals needed for the job. We do full or partial installations. Please see the gallery page for photos of our design and installation work.  

Spring Clean Ups

Here is a list of the basic essentials. You can choose a full or partial clean up depending on your budget and needs.

• Trimming and shaping hedges

• Pruning and shaping shrubs, pruning back shrubs and trees that overhang onto lawn areas and walkways

• Pruning shrubs and trees to encourage flowering, growth and overall plant health.

• Raking lawns and garden beds of leaves and debris

• Installing composted bark mulch

• Deep edging garden beds and borders

• Applying organic fertilizer to plants and shrubs to encourage plant health and resilience

• Applying organic lawn fertilizer or topdressing lawns with organic compost and over seeding

• Blowing pathways and sidewalks

Fall Clean Ups

Here is a list of the basic essentials. You can choose a full or partial clean up depending on your budget and needs.

• Cutting back perennials and shrubs

• Pruning and shaping hedges

• Pruning shrubs and trees to encourage flowering, growth and overall plant health

• Removing leaves, pine needles or other debris on your lawn, garden beds, walk ways and driveway

• Mulching garden beds to protect plants and help retain moisture during dry periods

• Applying organic fall lawn fertilizer for huge spring improvement

• Pruning trees for optimal health and protection from wind or snow damage in winter

• Planting a variety of flowering bulbs for a splash of colour from as early as January to the end of July

Regular Garden Maintenance.

Regular garden maintenance includes all of the services listed above throughout the garden season in order to keep your yard tidy, weed free and ensure that all plants are pruned for optimal health as well as abundant flowering and growth.
